The AP Royal Oak Offshore 26470SO super clone (ref. 26470SO.OO.A002CA.01) is the 42 mm steel chronograph with a black bezel that Audemars Piguet added in 2018, nicknamed the “Vampire” for its black and red dial. Ours follows the black Méga Tapisserie dial with large white Arabic numerals and the black rubber strap, with one visible difference: its counters are silver-white, while the genuine has black counters and red accents. This is a factory dial variant, not an exact copy. The case is steel as on the genuine; the bezel is black, where AP uses ceramic.

26470SO vs 26470ST vs 26238: Which 42 mm Offshore?

In the 26470 family the suffix tells you the bezel: ST models such as the steel Vampire 26470ST.OO.A101CR keep a steel bezel, while the SO frames the dial in black. All share the 42 mm case and the Calibre 3126/3840. In 2021 AP retired the line for the 26238: still 42 mm, but 15.2 mm thick and fitted with the in-house Calibre 4404, a flyback chronograph and 70 hours of reserve. Take this 26470SO for the black dial with light counters, a 26238 for the current case.

Is the 26470SO super clone a true Vampire with red accents?

Does a 42 mm AP Offshore fake wear smaller than the 44 mm models?

Yes, it is 2 mm narrower, and that is noticeable: the 42 mm 26470 fits wrists from roughly 16.5 cm, whereas the 44 mm 26400 and 26405 chronographs look right from about 17.5 cm up.
